The Cleveland Cavaliers land one of their top targets for associated head coach and for experience on the coaching staff for new head coach John Beilein. The Cavs have reportedly hired former Memphis Grizzlies head coach JB Bickerstaff, ESPN reports.
Bickerstaff was in discussions with multiple teams, but discussed with Beilein and general manager Koby Altman seem to have helped Bickerstaff make the decision a little more easier for him.
This is an excellent hire by the Cavs. They need to continue to surround Beilein with assistant coaches who have experience across the board.
With this hire, expect more dominos to fall later on in regards to coaching hires by the Cavs. It is vital for the Cavs to put experienced assistant coaches next to Beilein to help his transition from the college ranks, to the NBA. The Cavs are already off to a great start in doing so.
