The Cleveland Cavaliers have the number fifth pick in the upcoming draft in June. It seems like they will have a wide variety of options with the fifth pick, after the big three of Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and RJ Barrett will be off the board.
It looks like they seem interested in former USC Trojan, Kevin Porter Jr. Per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs consider Porter Jr. a “wild card” pick.
The Cavs did, in fact, meet with Porter Jr. Wednesday night.
According to sources, the Cavs met with Porter Wednesday night in Chicago. They are hoping to bring him to Cleveland for a pre-draft workout in the next few weeks.
Porter Jr. had a pretty rough freshman season at USC. He was suspended for a “personal conduct issue,” and also had injuries as well.
In 21 games with USC, Porter Jr. averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He shot 47.1% from the field and 41.2% from three.
