Start: Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen has looked like an up and coming star this preseason (Yes, I know it’s preseason). His week one matchup vs the Jets is a promising one. The Jets secondary was one of the worst in the league last year despite having very over paid corner, Trumaine Johnson and borderline super star Jamal Adams. They do however have a new defensive coordinator in Gregg Williams who loves to blitz so maybe that can help out the secondary.
Start: Mark Ingram, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Mark Ingram for me at least is a very interesting back to keep an eye on this season. He is joining one of the top run heavy teams this season and should see a ton of carries. This week he has the Miami Dolphins who are pretty obviously tanking. The Ravens should get on top quick then run the clock out.
Start: Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys
Amari Cooper almost single handedly made the Cowboys offense watchable again. Kellen Moore, his new offensive coordinator, is viewed as one of the next young offensive minds in the NFL and should help them be even more interesting. This week they host the Giants who look like they are planning for next season and not this one. Janoris Jenkins will probably follow him all over the field but is also one of the most overrated corners in the league. Start Amari Cooper.
Sit: Cam Newton, QB, Carolina Panthers
As a Panthers fan this kills me inside. Cam Newton is facing Aaron Donald and the Los Angeles Rams in week one. Cam hurt his ankle in week three of the preseason because he wasn’t protected well. I am not confident the Panthers offensive line can keep Cam clean and upright.
Sit: Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titians
Derrick Henry is facing that dangerous Cleveland Brown defensive line in week one and I don’t expect him to get much carries. Cleveland has a new offense and will be able to put up points in a hurry. I expect the Titians to be playing catch up which means passing the ball a lot and probably having pass catching RB, Dion Lewis in a bit more.
Sit: Ty Hilton, WR, Indianapolis Colts
With the news of Andrew Luck, Ty’s value drops way down. Jacoby Brissett isn’t nearly the QB Andrew was and Ty and Andrew had that special connection. I just don’t know how these two will mesh and there are better options in week one to go with. Jacoby does have down field accuracy which would be helpful so if you can buy Ty Hilton low, I would do it.
